Douglas Thomas Greening

Fiction Writer in the Making

Hello, I’m Doug

Born in the early 1960s in Toronto to a broken home and a troubled mother, I learned early how to adapt and keep moving forward. Summers with my grandparents in Buffalo gave me rare moments of stability and love. By age 15, I was mostly on my own and had to figure life out the hard way.

For over thirty years I wore many hats — short-order cook, restaurant manager, software developer, VP of R&D, and ran my own corporate ISP. I wrote millions of words, but almost none of them were the stories I truly wanted to tell.

Then the world slowed down in 2020–2021, and I finally asked myself: If not now, when?

Back to the Stories

So here I am — older, wiser, and more determined than ever to finish the novels I started long ago and to write many more. I’m passionate about character-driven stories that blend heart, action, and the messy, beautiful reality of being human.

I live in southern Arkansas with my wonderfully supportive wife of over twenty years. When I’m not writing or reading, you’ll often find me tinkering with tech or enjoying the quieter life we’ve built together.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you’ll stick around as I share my writing journey — the wins, the struggles, and everything in between.

Warmly,
Doug
